Jon Reep Appears in “Into The Storm”

From New Line Cinema, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, comes the tornado disaster film “Into the Storm,” featuring our very own Jon Reep.

In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot.

Told through the eyes and lenses of professional storm chasers, thrill-seeking amateurs and courageous townspeople, “Into the Storm” throws you directly into the eye of the storm to experience Mother Nature at her most extreme.

Check out Jon when the movie opens on Aug. 8.

John Anderson Inducted Into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame

John Anderson leads this year’s class of new inductees to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, which was announced on July 8. Joining John are celebrated songwriters Paul Craft, Gretchen Peters and Tom Douglas. All four will be inducted officially during the 44th Anniversary Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame & Induction Ceremony on Oct. 5 at Music City Center. The awards are presented in conjunction with Nashville Songwriters Association International.

John wrote many of his best-known hits, including the award-winning “Swingin’” and “Seminole Wind.” He will be inducted in the Songwriter/Artist category. Following the announcement, John told Country Weekly that he was pleased to be recognized for his songwriting.

“That means an awful lot to me because we fought so hard for many of the songs I’d written,” John said. “I figured out early on that writing your own songs could be very helpful to your career. I was fortunate to have great writers around me who would help and advise me.”
