The GRAND OLE OPRY is Back with Some New and Exciting Plans for 2016

What began as a simple radio broadcast in 1925 is today a live entertainment phenomenon. Dedicated to honoring country music’s rich history and dynamic present, the Grand Ole Opry showcases a mix of country legends and the contemporary chart-toppers who have followed in their footsteps. The Opry, an American icon and Nashville, Tennessee’s number-one attraction, is world-famous for creating one-of-a-kind entertainment experiences for audiences of all ages.

One of the very first things that StarVista LIVE did when planning the inaugural Country Music Cruise in 2013 was to invite the Opry on board to be an integral part and bring a bit of Opry magic to the cruise. The Opry presentations are always the most highly anticipated and well attended events on the cruise and this year will be no exception.

In 2016, Opry will be re-creating their live show on board. During one of our days at sea, the Opry will take over the main stage and present a number of artists each doing a few songs with a replica of the Opry stage as the setting. The great appeal of the Opry has always been the mix of new and established artists doing a great mix of musical styles ably guided by a host and our on board event will stick as close as we can to that great recipe. In addition, there should be plenty of time for guests to get a picture in front of the iconic Opry mic stand.
