Jake Clayton
Jake Clayton found a passion for playing Country music at a very early age. As a teenager, Jake had already become the talked about ‘kid’ who could play the fiddle, dobro, piano, banjo, mandolin, and any other Instrument he picked up. Within a couple of years, Jake was performing at the local Opry houses in rural Missouri playing with musicians over triple his age. Before he was old enough, he was in regional bars with local cover bands opening shows for touring Country Music artists. Discovered by a road manager on one of the tours passing through, Jake soon landed in the heart of Nashville, TN playing for some of the top names in the Country Music business. After 15 years Jake Clayton has now traveled around the globe as a utility musician on tours headlined by stars such as Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Bob Segar, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, and many more. Jake has performed on stage alongside icons like Brad Paisley & Keith Urban and he’s been on legendary stages like The Grand Ole Opry, Madison Square Garden, and Red Rocks. Most recently Jake performed on national TV with Country Music legend Tanya Tucker on CMT’s Smashing Glass, CMT’s Summer Sessions, Austin City Limits, The CMA Awards, The CMT Awards, and an episode of The Grand Ole Opry.
Off the stage, Jake has built an impressive resumé in the studio world. On top of hundreds of recordings for indie artists all around the world, Jake has recorded on releases by Chris Young, Donny Osmond, Tanya Tucker, Thompson Square, Sunny Sweeney, Joey & Rory, and many more earning him credits on chart topping albums and a #1 song.
During this time Jake Clayton fueled his passion for writing, recording, and touring as an artist. Crafting his own genre-bending blend of old and new Country Music covered in a full arsenal of roots-based Instruments, Jake has released 4 albums, 3 eps, and multiple singles with his latest album “Signs” nearing 400,000 streams. On his releases, Jake either writes or co-writes every song, and he performs nearly all of the Instruments, from bass, guitars, and pedal steel, to fiddle, dobro, banjo, and mando, including lead vocals and most vocal harmonies. Jake’s own band has opened shows for hitmakers Cole Swindell, Jon Pardi, Granger Smith, Kane Brown, Colt Ford, David Allan Coe, and others, and in the past year Jake Clayton's trio has received multiple standing ovations opening a string of dates for Tanya Tucker. When Jake is not on the road, or in the studio, you’ll often find him in the Nashville honky-tonks entertaining at some of the legendary spots like Tootsie’s and Legends Corner.
Jake is truly a natural entertainer that could be viewed as a modern day mixture of Charlie Daniels and Roy Clark. And even though his own music is geared more towards modern sounds, he is the kid that grew up playing classic Country Music & Bluegrass and he’s the one on Broadway in downtown Nashville that can usually cover the classic song requests that the younger generation missed out on. Jake is also the much talked about fiddle player that does one of the most impressive performances of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” you’ll witness.
